We’re all looking at a different picture…

I was going to wait again until tomorrow to write, but meh. Since Second Life has been a complete basket case lately, I’ve decided I would finally take the time to blog. Course, I can’t just normally blog like the rest of them can I?

I guess I wanted to step back to what I was speaking on last weekend, the overall sexuality of Second Life and how we perceive everything. It was brought to my attention on Sunday during “Secrets” about people flinging around names of being called a “whore.” What exactly is a whore then? It’s a derogatory term given to a women who takes multiple partners or a woman who takes money for sex (aka a prostitute). I pondered this while a few plurks were going about stating what “people” thought and how it “really” is a hateful word. Of course back in the day (we’re talking 19th century people) a whore was a common term and an occupation! But now, being called a “whore” is demeaning, hurtful and can cause damage.

So where does this take me? In wanting to explore myself and the things I do, it’s just another bridge I will have to take in order to focus on what I want. People too easily jump to the cause that a person is a whore or a slut because they enjoy to “play around” or “date” or even enjoy the company of their past relations. Unfortunately in this “game” we weave, the pool isn’t that big. We all bump heads with one another, play with one another and eventually just be. I think back to when I was living back up north and the people I knew. I could date one person and that person would know that person, or had dated that person. It didn’t matter. It’s life. If you look within the community that most of us are in, we are stepping over one another ten fold. No matter which way we turn, no matter how big this “world” is, it isn’t and because of this, we are bound to connect with those with similar patterns and take those reigns.

I would like to think that we are all adults and can play with one another like adults. Especially those that wish to explore one another’s fantasies and wish for like minds without the backlash of people who (in my mind) have the lack of decency to actually look at the big picture. Unfortunately, people are people. I guess those of us who wish to be who we wish just need to be one step better.
