When I was taking this picture, I really wasn’t thinking of anything that truly inspired me – instead I was just taking a picture because I thought it was pretty cool looking and the idea of the skin, hair and set up of the clothes seemed to work for me. But as I fiddled around with the settings and the poses, I kept on going back to what was really pushing me to get myself out of my own element of ‘typical’ and try something else. I have over the past few months been watching different people in our community go from one spectrum to the other – their tenacity to exceed and excel in their photography blows me away and truly pushes me to be better on my own. Without watching what they do, or how they do it – I could not have learned some of the things that I do to my own photographs.
Although there are numerous people that I watch, one person stands out to me when I say change. This person: Magenta DeVinna and her blog Not Quite Pink. She may not blog religiously or do what she’s expected, but she does take the time to try out new things and push herself hard. I’m impressed by her talent (not to mention her adorable looks). So thank you, Skittles. You inspire me.
