I had seen on plurk a notice for {Bilo}‘s new mesh maxi dress a couple days ago. I really loved the colors, the style and the way the picture depicted a smooth consistency with the body. Of course, I bought the dress unseen, non-demoed (my own fault) and thought I would try it out on my more voluptuous shape {Isa} that I have at my store Simplí . Needless to say…I looked like a bag of potatoes. The colors were nice, but the shape just didn’t do anything for the me. I did still end up taking a few photos and using Bella’s cute poses from .evolve. to compliment it. With a little movement, the dress did actually look okay. I just wish it looked better when not posed. *sadface*

  1. Thank you for the review! I’m sorry you feel the dress looks like a sack of potatoes, because you look very lovely in it in the photograph! The dresses came in 5 different sizes which follow the Standard Sizing dimensions (you can see the shape specifications on marketplace). This is why we offer a demo, and an alpha so that you have more options with the standard sizes included in each purchase.

There is an interesting poll here: http://shoppingcartdisco.com/gossip/what-mesh-standard-size-do-you-most-commonly-wear/ If we see enough responses on this sizing issue, I’m sure many designers will be adding new shapes or changing some of the standard sizes.

    • Thank you for commenting Maya 🙂 I really loved the look of the dress and you’re correct in that I should have demoed. The colors are great, I might add. The one thing that I wish about standard sizing is that we all have to tweek our bodies to make the mesh fit correctly. Which is fine, but then for those that want to have a fuller shaped body, the mesh looks distorted. I know that in the end result it all has to work together and we don’t want designers/creators having to make a million different sizes to suit the masses.

ps. Your comment ended up in my spam folder. Oops. Sorry about that!
